Community Need in NE13

Several areas within the NE13 postcode fall within the lower deciles of the Index of Multiple Deprivation. Access to structured sport and safe community spaces has a proven positive impact on health outcomes, educational engagement, community safety and mental wellbeing.

Wideopen FC provides affordable, community-led participation for families who rely on local provision. We are not just a football club — we are a community anchor for thousands of people across Wideopen, Seaton Burn and the wider NE13 area.

There is also a critical shortage of quality artificial grass pitches in the area, limiting training, match hosting, female football expansion and school access to modern facilities. Our planned 11v11 4G pitch at Seaton Burn Recreational Ground will directly address this gap.
